Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II – I have been without a decent photo printer since my workhorse Canon i960 threw in the towel about 6 months ago. I tried to get a replacement print head. But Canon no longer makes them. The eBay thieves want more than the printer is worth.
Canon has a loyalty program, where you can get 20% off if you buy another Canon when parts are no longer available for your previous model. In addition they had some really good deals on the Pro large format printers in the Pixma line. So…I bit the bullet and ordered a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II. It is not the latest and greatest, but it is a very capable printer and the quality is exceptional. In addition when I registered the printer for warranty online, I got a promo code to get 50% off of print supplies, excluding ink 🙁 , and I ended up getting 100 sheets of 8 1/2″ X 11″ Platinum paper for $20. That was including tax and shipping direct from Canon!
My old printer was not wide format and I always wanted to have the ability to print bigger, and now I can. Lots of choice on paper size and it is quick and very quiet.
