Lemons, Lemons, Lemons

The lemon tree in my yard has started its annual offering of ripened lemons. I have an Improved Meyer Lemon Tree that is prolific. The tree can produce up to four hundred lemons in a good year. This year is a bumper crop and there is only so much lemonade one can drink.  I give away as many as possible. In addition I juice and freeze for later. Tonight I made a pasta with butter lemon sauce, spiced with red pepper flakes, garlic, shallots, black pepper and fresh basil. Topped with grated parmesan and served with ciabatta.
