Banana Bread is in my future.

Harvested a large bunch today and as soon as they ripen it will be time to make banana bread. Each year I get two or three large bunches of bananas from my backyard. Although the bananas are small, they are very tasty. My bananas are the Orinoco variety. They are probably the most common banana grown all along the Gulf Coast and are relatively cold tolerant. They can reliably produce large bunches of medium-sized fruits (4-6″). These can be cooked when green, but mostly I let mine to fully ripen and eat them. In this case I have chosen to make banana bread. There are simply too many to eat. This variety is sweet and has an aftertaste reminiscent of lemon.
