Street Photos. A few from Friday

A swing around downtown Houston presented these sights. Street Photos on an early fall day. The city always provides surprising and unusual sites. The giant cello is very near the theater district. Protesters are nearly anywhere. I’m not a Street Photo guru, enthusiast, or diehard. However I do occasionally go for human interest. Street Photos capture a candid moment and allow the viewer to see more than he/she would have noticed had they been there. Most Street Photos are in black and white, but some work in color.

Some subjects don’t take kindly to being photographed in public. A legal case in the United States, Nussenzweig v DiCorcia, established that taking, publishing and selling street photography (including street portraits) is legal. Without any need for the consent of those whose image appears in the photographs. Specifically the First Amendment protects photography as free speech and artistic expression.  Finally even though you are within your rights, be respectful.
