In honor of Gun Appreciation Day

Gun Appreciation Day first annual celebration was yesterday. So, here is the gun I appreciate! Furthermore this day is also a time to renew a commitment to the Second Amendment.  The Second Amendment is the Inalienable Right to Self-Defense. It protects a private right of individuals to keep and bear arms

Two shared assumptions are implicit in the debate between the Federalists and Anti-Federalists. Firstly the proposed new constitution gave the federal government almost total legal authority over the army and the militia. Second, that the federal government should not have any authority at all to disarm the citizenry. The disagreement between Federalists and Anti-Federalists was only over the narrower question of whether an armed populace could adequately assure the preservation of liberty.

The animating concern behind the amendment was fear that the new federal government might try to disarm the citizenry in order to prevent armed resistance to political usurpations. That has never occurred, but a great many new legal restrictions on the right to arms have since been adopted. Nearly all of these laws aim at preventing the misuse of firearms by irresponsible civilians. But many of them also interfere with the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves against violent criminals.

Sig Sauer 2022 – 9 mm

The 9×19mm Parabellum  was designed by George Luger and introduced in 1902 . It is called, simply the 9mm Luger by SAAMI. It is a standard for the NATO handgun cartridge. The 9mm is the most popular handgun cartridge in the world. This is probably due to the low cost and availability of ammo.

The point to Remember on this Gun Appreciation Day. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is an extension of the natural right to self-defense and a hallmark of personal sovereignty.
