A Gossamer Blanket of spider labor. Along the Upper Texas coast there are vast areas of coastal prairie dotted with salt and fresh water marsh. While on a visit to Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge one early morning, I was treated to this most unusual view. The marsh grasses were covered in spider webs, glistening with the morning dew. The refuge is home to a diverse variety of coastal species, including birds, reptiles, American Alligator, coyote, raccoon, bobcat, and armadillo. During this trip, I captured images of a sunning American Alligator and a very large Cottonmouth Moccasin. The snake was none too pleased with my presence and I gave him a wide berth of respect.
I will continue a Brazoria post series in future because I believe this area is truly worth your interest.
