Big Bend National Park Postscript – The Long Way Home
At the end of each trip I’ve ever taken to Big Bend, it always seems that the departure involves a flurry of activity. A preview of the return to the world we live in every day. Meanwhile packing up, putting things in their proper place, planning fuel and route and thinking about the transit of many miles. Furthermore it seems that the land and the sky always send a message to me on the departure. Similarly this day was no different that others in past. After I settled behind the wheel and started my journey I opened my eyes and mind. Above all the land showed me her charms. Here are a few photos of my departure and the message from this timeless land, saying, “I’m here, I’ll be here”
First I miss the cool morning air. Later I miss the smell of the desert. Later my mind is fresh with these images and sensations. In conclusion I’ll return soon.
