Big Bend Window Sunset

A Big Bend Window Sunset is always a beautiful thing, but much better with a palette of clouds for the sun to paint. Certainly the Window is the iconic Big Bend photo. Every visitor who spends any time in the park, will take the time to locate for a sunset view of the Window. I venture to say that most have not seen it quite like this.

I was lucky on this day. The afternoon cumulus built just before sunset and streamed to the west toward the setting sun. Additionally a few drops of rain were squeezed out onto the thirsty landscape. Afterwards the storm passed leaving a clear night. First I set up to capture one 5 MP photo every 10 seconds. Next I compiled them into a short video. This video is 703 photos over about 2 hours, lapsed into just a few short minutes. It was the final night of a 7 day trip to Seminole Canyon, Meyer’s Spring and Big Bend National Park. I trust that you’ll enjoy this short look.
