I took a slow drive down the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive after bagging Croton Peak, to grab a few shots of the Dorgan House. In addition I visited the tuff and lava formations near Castolon Peak. The area near Castolon Peak is delightful. The myriad of color and shapes are worthy of exploring. Especially interesting

Simple Beauty

Simple beauty, difficult to surpass…..an Indian Carnation blossom. The Indian carnation is a tropical plant native to the tropics of southeastern Asia and India. As such, this plant can only be grown successfully outdoors in the tropical areas of the United States. No problem here in Houston. It grows and flowers like a weed!
